I feel there is a void in the jazz-inspired art world. I see a pattern in most of the paintings; a few distorted figures with instruments and a rainbow of colors slapped on the canvas around them. While nice to look at, I interpret that as the general impression that some people have of jazz. “It’s kinda cool and weird, but just a lot of random notes.”
The more I study it, the more the music reveals itself. Each note played (and not played) becomes more and more meaningful.
As someone with a huge passion for jazz, I want to share the intimate side of the music, share its wonderful, unique, significant culture; help people gain a better appreciation for it.
